How long do we Doula-La?

Now, I don’t claim to be an expert or a pro at anything! I am still learning every bloody day, and growing as a person, a mother and a wife; but there is still so much practical and emotional support I can offer to help you, to create a practical plan that will see you thriving not just surviving!

Now the general consensus thinks the postpartum period ends about the 6-8 weeks after birth, and generally speaking my postpartum package generally ends about there, along with most others. However, I’m a mum too. I know first hand of the struggles that can arise beyond those 8 weeks! And the struggles mums can face during their recovery with other kids in the house. So I can offer support up to 18months postpartum- what’s does that look like? Well this is very individualised. Send me a email if this is something you might be interested in.

I also offer a ‘SOS’ call. This is where you probably thought you didn’t need a Doula, but shits hitting the fan and your support network could do with one more person…ME!! I have been there! Kitchen a mess, baby is hungry and crying, I’m busting for the toilet, toddler is screaming, and you have run out of your favourite undies. I get it! That’s why I offer a free 15 min ‘SOS’ call. This is where we can discuss what’s happening and how your feeling- sometimes all you need is just good to talk, and I’m a bloody good listener! We can also discuss some visits, where I can come around and help.

Some reasons you may like additional support:

  • You’re struggling with navigating a work/life balance- lets talk!

  • You’re a single mum needing support- been there sis!

  • You’re struggling with postpartum depression and/or anxiety and need additional support to cope with day-to-day life- breathe!! We got this!!!

  • You need some emotional support to cope with certain challenges- lets brain storm!

  • You feel like you’re heading towards burnout- relatable…let me help!

  • You’re struggling to keep up with everyday household chores and you’d like the odd bit of washing put on- babe, Let me take this off your shoulders- I know the small stuff can feel big at the moment.

  • You’ve just introduced a new baby into the family and you’d like support for your older children as they adjust to this big transition- let me set up some activities for them!

How I can support you after the newborn phase?

  • Provide continued emotional support to the whole family unit

  • Provide insight into childhood developmental phases

  • Help you get linked in to community support groups and to professionals

  • Sibling adjustments- this can be really tough, I have experienced this first hand.

  • Promote self-care practices- we all need this!! And I’m a huge advocate for this!

  • Provide you and the family with some nourishing foods

So, if you would like some practical, in-home support, from a Mumma/Doula that gets it! please email me!! And we can chat about how I can help you start enjoying this precious time.
